MS Word Quick Tip: How To Paste Plain Text Copied from Other Program | Next of Windows

Trying to reduce FUD on the forthcoming retirement of G+ Photos and the replacement by Google Photos. There's too much vague and high level (read: obscured info) to satisfy me. Yes there will be feature differences and there are obviously different procedures / workflows.

Kept one eye on a TV re-run of Man of Steel whilst checking out Google Photos - I confess I didn't previously bother to understand the new UI. Here're my notes.

+Westpac Banking phone support sucks. And the staff agree with me!

Made a mistake  on the website BPAY - (oh, by the way, their web app sucks as bad as their phone support) and needed to call Westpac. Made a phone call at 4:30 pm and there was an estimated 10 minute wait.

Same story at 7 pm but it took half an hour to first level support who immediately passed me to a senior banker and that took another half hour to pick up - the wait was so long the irritating guitar pickin music ran out of loops! I made the "1 hour? Really?" remark several times and she said she would gladly pass the complaint to the boss and said in her lovely voice "It might as well have been a Centrelink call"

Great gal that one, well balanced, good sense of humour, pity she has to deal with this kind of volume of calls.

Maybe if they worked on web app UI properly instead of creating hierarchical workflows instead of intelligent, single screen workflows customers would make less mistakes and reduce the phone calls.

It's not just the UI, there's also mechanism glitches. You can try to make a payment in an abbreviated screen, it fails silently because there is there is no validation on maximum daily amount in the abbreviated screen. You then get to see the full payment screen, not pre-populated by the failed transaction but now clearly stating your maximum daily limit. To change your daily limit, yes you go to another screen, change, it, wait for SMS confirmation, then you return to the new payments screen but confirmed new daily limit is not validating, it is validating your previous maximum. So you log out and log in again.

In the payments list, my mistake payment had a status of "processing" - that is the same status as of a few days ago. When I made a new independent, separate payment transaction, the old mistake payment of two weeks ago, changed status and either was no longer listed or had changed status to "paid". Staff told me that the clarity comes from the Transactions Screen, not the Payments Screen - like is this the same data and multiple views or is it different data?

:(
