At the SJ 5K Color Run today. Finally got to photograph a colorful event like this. It was loads of fun and my gear actually didn't suffer any major exposure from all the color bombs that people were throwing up in the air around me. The powder in the air got so thick at times that my lens got covered up with so much of it. I had to constantly blow the powder off of it just so I could continue shooting.
I think a lot of them thought that I was one of the official photographers for the event that quite a number of them asked me to photograph them -- with my camera and theirs.
All in all .. a good day to shoot for me. One off the bucket list, check!

5K Color Run in San Jose this Saturday ... I just found out about this event. It starts at 8:15am.
Leaning on going just to have that chance to photograph such an event finally.
Dave Martinez and 3 others were tagged in Ed Subi's album.

Good thing I found this out now cause I've always wanted to photograph a festival like this. So I guess I won't even come near one if I'm carrying my camera around with me. Maybe a point-and-shoot will do, if ever I do go.
SFMOMA moment. I had done a similar shot years ago with my old p&s camera at the time and somehow I get the feeling that I still like that old shot a whole lot better than this more recent one. Maybe because that old shot had more swirling motion of people going in different directions than this one.

I was going for the silhouettes and long shadows when I took this shot but didn't expect to get that "cinematic" look somehow -- at least, that's what I felt when I was processing it.
